Yangzhou University is one of the oldest providers of part-time adult education in China, having been founded in 1958 at the forefront of the correspondence education and evening university in teacher training, agricultural science, and health sciences and so on. Since then, the Department for Continuing Education has trained more than 112000 undergraduates and junior college students by adult education, more than 12000 self-taught undergraduates and junior college graduates, and nearly 200000 students with professional certificates.
