The Agricultural College(AC), Yangzhou University, dates back to the Nantong Institute of Agriculture founded at the late of Qing Dynasty (1902), has been playing an important role in higher agricultural education in China for more than one century. After decades of great efforts, AC has grown into an institution with clear research orientations, good curriculum development, competitive research teams and efficient faculty, and has become one of the leading institutions of education, research and social services in China in the field of agriculture.
SCHOOL WEBSITECollege of Horticulture and Plant Protection is a secondary school of Yangzhou University and is one of the major colleges in the university's development of agricultural science. The College was formally established in September 2006 and its origin can be traced back to Tonghai Agricultural School founded in 1902 by Zhang Jian, a famous educator during the reign of Guangxu. The undergraduate programs including plant protection, pomology and vegetable science were officially launched in 1971. It was the earliest nationally to merge pomology and vegetable science to establish the undergraduate program of horticulture in 1982. Undergraduate programs in landscape design, ecology and landscape architecture were set up in 2000, 2003 and 2016, respectively.
SCHOOL WEBSITEThe College of Animal Science and Technology (CAST) was founded in 2004, but its history can be traced back to as early as 1902. With the efforts of several generations, our comprehensive strength has been greatly improved and ranked among the best colleges of the same level.
SCHOOL WEBSITEThe College of Veterinary Medicine（CVM）is an excellent school among the twenty nine colleges of the Yangzhou University. It has five secondary disciplines, among which the Preventive Veterinary Medicine is the National and Provincial Key Discipline, the Clinical and Basic Veterinary Medicine is the Provincial Key Discipline. Due to its high academic reputation with over twenty research directions of characteristics, the State Government has selected CVM as the Station for Post-doctoral research station. The College has three secondary disciplines（Preventive, Clinical and Basic Veterinary Medicine）holding the right for conferring PhD Degree and six secondary disciplines（Preventive, Clinical and Basic Veterinary Medicine, Microbiology, Zoology and Professional Veterinary Medicine）for MS Degree.
SCHOOL WEBSITEThe College of Bioscience and Biotechnology (CBB) was established in 1998. It currently has 87 faculty members and 67 full-time teachers. Of all the full-time teachers, 20 and 26 teachers are full Professors and Associate professors, respectively, including 15 doctoral supervisors and 51 master supervisors. Four teachers are grantees of the National Outstanding Youth Foundation. One teacher is the winner of the National Top 100 Excellent Dissertations for Doctor Degree. Two teachers have been selected for the national "Ten Million Talents Project". One person is enrolled into the "Outstanding Talents Support Program in New Century" of the Ministry of Education. One teacher is honored as the Distinguished Professor of Jiangsu Province. Four teachers are the training targets of the "333 Projects" in Jiangsu Province, with one of them listed at the first level.
