College of Humanities of Yangzhou University developed from the department of Chinese language and literature of Yangzhou Normal College, which was founded in 1952. A master of Chinese lyrics and melodies, Ren Zhongmin, under the pseudonym ‘half pond’, began the PhD program of Chinese ancient literature, which was firstly approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council. The faculty has bachelor’s program in three majors at present, Chinese Language and Literature, Secretarial Science and Chinese International Education. Among these, Chinese Language and Literature major has PhD program.
SCHOOL WEBSITEThe College of Social Sciences(CSS) of Yangzhou University is located in the beautifulSlender West Lake Campus with profound cultural background, close to the Slender West Lake Scenic Spot. The college was founded in 2002, among which major of History was founded in 1952.
SCHOOL WEBSITEThe predecessor of the Marxist school of Yangzhou University is the Politics and History Department of Yangzhou Normal College which was first established 50 years ago in 1960s. In 1998, the Marxism-Leninism Departments and faculties of Political Science and Law of former six colleges and universities have been merged into the School of Political Science and Law (Social Science Department) in Yangzhou University . In 2001, the moral education department merged from former six colleges and universities was merged into Yangzhou University's moral education department (Social Science Department). In 2004, the School of Political Science and Law was divided into Law School and Social Development College (Social Science Department). In April 2011, The Social Development College of Yangzhou University (Department of Social Sciences) was divided into the Social Development Institute and Marxist school.
SCHOOL WEBSITEThe college has established a law undergraduate major to train applied law professionals. There are six departments of the faculty: Jurisprudence and Constitutional Administrative Law, Criminal Law, Civil and Commercial Law, Economic Law, International Law and Comparative Law, and Procedural Law. The college also has a comprehensive office, a comprehensive law laboratory, and a reading room.
SCHOOL WEBSITEEstablished in 2006, the School of Educational Science (SES) at Yangzhou University (YZU) now plays an important role in the education field in China. Its history can be traced back to the time when the People's Republic of China has been just established. At that time, the special subject on education was set up in Subei teacher's training school. In the year of 1952, Subei Normal College established "the educational subject of the teaching and research section", and in 1958, it became "the educational subject of the teaching and research section" of Yangzhou Normal College. In 1992, it was renamed as "the Institute of Educational Science" of Yangzhou Normal College，when YZU decided to develop into a multi-disciplinary comprehensive university. The SES was founded in its current form in 2006.

Since then, the school has been committed to cultivate applied talents with high quality and strong professional skills. Ultimately, a comprehensive talent training system focused on undergraduates and postgraduate education in news media, film and television art and educational technology has been formed.

SCHOOL WEBSITEBusiness School of Yangzhou University (YZU) was founded with the merge of Economics School of YZU and Management School of YZU in Sep. 2010. Currently Business School has 14 undergraduate programs including Economics, Finance, Public Finance, International Economics and Trade, Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Accounting, Financial Management, Agricultural and Forestry Economics and Management, Public Affairs Management, Administration Management, E-business Management and International Business (Sino-Australia joint program). Among them, Economics and Business Administration are both Provincial-level Distinctive Majors. Business Administration is one of the Brand Majors of YZU. Accounting and International Economics and Trade are Distinctive Majors of YZU. The postgraduate programs mainly fall within 3 disciplines including Economics, Business Administration, and Agricultural and Forestry Economics and Management.
SCHOOL WEBSITEThe Conservatory of Music in Yangzhou University was founded in 1993. The college has two undergraduate majors in Music Education and Music Performance, the right to grant Master's Degree in Music and Dance, Master's Degree in Art, Master's Degree in Music (Music Field), and Master's Degree in Education (Music). The college has the Yangzhou Folk Music Research Institute of Yangzhou University and the "Music Forest" Vocal Art Center. It has a theater, a music exhibition hall, an electric piano classroom, a computer music production laboratory, a chorus room, and a piano room. It has a wealth of books and audiovisual materials. The college has a total of 46 faculty members, including 14 master's tutors and 14 associate professors. The college has famous singers and music educators in the country. They are diligent in the field of art education and eager to pursue exploration in artistic creation.
SCHOOL WEBSITECollege of Fine Arts and Design was funded in June 2014, its story can be traced back to the major of Architectural Decoration Engineering established by the faculty of Civil Engineering in primary JiangSu Hydraulic Engineering Specialist in 1990 and the Arts department established by primary YangZhou Normal College in 1993.
