Located by the picturesque Slender West Lake, the College of Mathematical Science belongs to one of the oldest colleges of Yangzhou University. It was founded in 1952 and originally known as the Mathematical Faculty of Subei Normal College. In 1958 it developed into the Mathematical Department of Yangzhou Normal College and started to enroll undergraduate students. In 1992, it was renamed as the Mathematical Department of the College of Science when Yangzhou Normal College merged with the College of Agriculture, College of Engineering, College of Hydraulic Science, College of Business and College of Medicine to form a new comprehensive Yangzhou University. Then finally in 2002, it took on its current name.
SCHOOL WEBSITESchool of Physical Science and Technology in Yangzhou University is located close to the national 5A Yangzhou Slender West Lake, and has a long history in education, which is initially known as the Department of Physics in Yangzhou normal college (Science department in 1952, separated to Physics Department in 1960, and found as School of Physical Science and Technology in 2002). The college now has four undergraduate majors (4-year), which are Physics (normal), Electronic Information Science and Technology, Microelectronics, Optoelectronic Information Science and Engineering. Among these four majors, Physics (including electronic information science and technology) are the key construction mayors in 12th Five-Year Plan of Jiangsu province. Moreover, the college also has doctor degree program of “physics” (4-year) for Ph.D. students; master degree program (3-year) including of “physics” and “optical engineering” for graduate students.
SCHOOL WEBSITEThe College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Yangzhou University was founded in 1952 as a section of Yangzhou Normal College. The campus is near the southern entrance of Slender West Lake Park in the ancient city Yangzhou. The college changed to its new name in 2002. At present, the college has six undergraduate majors, including Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Polymer Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering & Processing, Medicinal Engineering, and Material Chemistry. Among them, Chemistry subject is not only the national level key discipline, but also is national professional comprehensive reform pilot project. Moreover, both Chemistry and Applied Chemistry subjects are selected into Jiangsu provincial key subjects. Polymer Material Science & Engineering subject is selected into excellence engineers education program of education ministry, and Jiangsu provincial specially-supported major.
