Recently, the research team led by Professor Li Liangjun from the College of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture published a groundbreaking paper titled Telomere-to-telomere genome assembly reveals insights into the adaptive evolution of herbivore-defense mediated by volatile terpenoids in Oenanthe javanica in the internationally renowned journal, Plant Biotechnology Journal. This study accomplished the first Telomere-to-Telomere (T2T) genome assembly for Oenanthe javanica (water dropwort) and elucidated the adaptive evolutionary mechanism by which volatile terpenoids mediate defense against herbivorous insects in this plant species.
