Recently, the research team led by Professor Zhu Feng from the College of Plant Protection published a seminal paper titled NbNAC1 enhances plant immunity against TMV by regulating isochorismate synthase 1 expression and the SA pathway in the internationally renowned journal, The Plant Journal. This study elucidated the molecular mechanism by which the transcription factor NbNAC1 directly regulates salicylic acid (SA) biosynthesis in response to viral infection, thereby enhancing plant immunity against Tobacco Mosaic Virus (TMV).
