Recently, Professor Wang Zhiqiang’s team from the College of Veterinary Medicine of Yangzhou University published a research paper entitled Methionine-driven methylation modification plasmid-mediated high-leveltigecycline resistance in Nature Communications. This study first revealed the great potential of methionine in overcoming plasmid-mediated high-level tigecycline resistance.In addition, itinnovatively proposed a metabolic reprogramming strategy based on bacterial metabolic network and epigenetic modification to enhance the efficacy of antibiotics.
