Recently,a research paper entitled The HTIRDB : a resource containing a transcriptional atlas for 105 different tissues from each of seven species of domestic herbivore has been published in iMeta( IF 23.8 ).The paper is the achievement made by Professor Wang Mengzhi’s team from the College of Animal Science and Technology of Yangzhou University under the cooperation with Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural and Reclamation Sciences as well as Huazhong Agricultural University. This study constructed a cross-species transcriptome database of herbivores, which provided data resources and analysis platform for revealing the evolutionary mechanism of herbivores adapting to different environments and interpreting the genetic basis and metabolic mechanism of key economic traits.
