On March 4, Professor Wang Zhiqiang 's research team from the College of Veterinary Medicine of Yangzhou University published a research paper entitled “Adaptive evolution of plasmid and chromosome contributing to the fitness of a blaNDM-bearing cointegrate plasmid in Escherichia coli” online inThe ISME Journal. This article reveals the adaptive evolution mechanism of blaNDM-positive co-integrating plasmids in E.coli, and provides a theoretical basis for the prevention and control of the spread of drug-resistant plasmids.
