On February 28, PNAS published online a paper written by Prof. Wang Jianjun’s Research Group from our College of Plant Protection entitled “The pleiotropic AMPK-CncC signaling pathway regulates the trade-off between detoxification and reproduction”. The study revealed for the first time the molecular mechanism of the trade-off between detoxification and reproduction energy reallocation in insects mediated by AMPK-CncC signaling pathway.
This study has made an outstanding contribution to a comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms underlying the effects of xenobiotic compounds and the resulting oxidative stress on reproduction throughout the animal kingdom from the perspective of energy reallocation trade-off.
