On October 21st, a paper titled The Influenza Virus PB2 Protein Evades Antiviral Innate Immunity by Inhibiting JAK1/STAT Signalling written by Professor Peng Daxin’s team from our College of Veterinary Medicine was published in Nature Communications.
This paper confirms that highly pathogenic avian influenza virus can enhance its virulence to mammals through adaptive mutation, which is of great significance for the prevention and control of cross-host infection caused by avian influenza virus as well as the protection of human health. It was funded by National Key R&D Program of China, National Natural Science Foundation of China and other projects.
