On March 12, Clarivate released the latest ESI discipline rankings, with Yangzhou University's Engineering discipline entering the global top 1‰ for the first time. To date, four disciplines at the university—Agricultural Science, Plant and Animal Sciences, Chemistry, and Engineering—are now ranked among the world's top 1‰ in the Essential Science Indicators (ESI). This achievement reflects the strengthening of high-level discipline clusters and the steady enhancement of the university's overall academic influence and core competitiveness.
Currently, Yangzhou University boasts a total of 15 disciplines ranked in the global top 1% of ESI. In addition to the four disciplines in the top 1‰, the other 11 disciplines—Materials Science, Computer Science, Clinical Medicine, Biology and Biochemistry, Microbiology, Environment/Ecology, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Immunology, Physics, and Social Sciences, General—remain firmly positioned in the global top 1%.
Looking ahead, the university will continue to optimize its disciplinary structure and strengthen scientific research innovation, striving to make greater contributions to serving national strategic needs and advancing scientific and technological progress.
