From December 19 to 21, Yangzhou University hosted the 12th International Young Scholars Forum and University-City Talent-Industry Matchup Conference. The event was attended and addressed by Wang Jinjian, Secretary of the CPC Yangzhou Municipal Committee, Ding Jianning,Secretary of the CPC Yangzhou University Committee, and Liu Qiaoquan, President of Yangzhou University. Also present were Zhu Xingbo, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Yangzhou Municipal Committee and Minister of the Organization Department; Ma Shunsheng, Secretary of the CPC Yangzhou Vocational and Technical University Committee; as well as Pan Zhiming and Wang Chengtang, Vice Presidents of Yangzhou University; Qiu Qingfeng, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission and Accredited Supervision Commissioner; and Cai Yiwei, Vice President of Yangzhou University.
During the forum, university and city leaders highlighted Yangzhou’s cultural heritage, industrial strengths, and talent development initiatives. Liu Qiaoquan presented the university’s achievements and talent strategies, while Ding Jianning emphasized the institution’s commitment to attracting and cultivating talent through supportive policies and platforms.
Key outcomes included the launch of Yangzhou City’s“High-Level Talent Sharing Plan,”the appointment of nine“International Young Talent Recruitment Ambassadors,”and the signing of letters of intent with six young scholars. The forum also featured one-on-one meetings between scholars and 22 local enterprises, alongside 26 academic sub-forums.
The hybrid event attracted 110 young scholars from 22 countries and regions, along with representatives from government, industry, and academia.
