On October 27, the opening ceremony of the third Jiangsu International Exchange Week on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education & Application, hosted by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, was held in Suzhou. President Liu Qiaoquan attended the ceremony and signed a tripartite cooperation agreement with Zhu Yidong, Deputy Director of Yangzhou National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, and Han In-taek, President of the Korean Society for Parasitology and Tropical Medicine and Professor at Kangwon National University, to jointly establish the“Joint Research Center for Infectious Disease Prevention and Control and Public Health Security”.
The center represents a key initiative by the university to actively implement the integrated development strategy of“education, science and technology, and talent”and deeply engage in Jiangsu’s“Double-High Synergy”innovation system, which promotes collaboration between high-tech zones and universities. Moving forward, the center will focus on critical areas such as major infectious disease prevention and control, public health emergency response, and biosafety. By integrating the strengths and resources of the three parties, it aims to build an international innovation platform combining scientific research, technological development, talent cultivation, and achievement transformation, thereby providing scientific and technological support for regional public health security.
During the exchange week, the university officially joined the“Jiangsu-Africa University Cooperation Alliance”to expand and deepen collaboration with African universities and research institutions. The university also actively co-organized specialized academic exchanges and enterprise matchmaking sessions, further strengthening resource sharing and collaborative innovation with leading universities within the province and enhancing its capacity to support regional economic and social development.
