From October 12 to 15, the finals of the China International College Students’Innovation Competition 2025 were held at Zhengzhou University. After intense competition,Yangzhou University won one gold award, four silver awards, and two bronze awards.
In this competition, a total of seven projects from our university advanced to the national finals, with five progressing to the on-site competition. After intense competition in project roadshows and defense sessions, the following awards were achieved: The College of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture’sproject “DingGuagua:National SeedsLeading a New Revolution in the Hundred-Billion Cucumber Market” won a Gold Award in the “The Youth’sJourneytoward Building A Red Dream” track; The College of Information and Artificial Intelligence’s(College of Industrial Software) project “Silk Road Healthcare: Full-Chain Service for Medical Device Exports along the Belt and Road”, the College of Chemistry and Materials Engineering’sproject “New ‘Knee’ Hope: The World’s First Type II Collagen Cartilage Repair Material Supplier”, and the College of Food Science and Engineering’sproject “Nano Detect: Leader in Synchronous Rapid Detection Test Strips for Multiple Pathogens” won Silver Awards in the Higher Education Main Track; The College of Social Development’sproject “Beacon and Monument: From Memories of the War of Resistance to the Mission of the New Era” won a Bronze Award in the “The Youth’sJourneytoward Building A Red Dream” track; The project “From Offshore to Deep-Sea: A Deep-Sea Wind Turbine Based on Bionic Principles” from the University of Auckland, invited by the College of Electrical and Energy Power Engineering, won a Bronze Award in the International Project category of the Main Track.
The competition was jointly organized by the Ministry of Education, the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Cyberspace Administration of China, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the National Intellectual Property Administration, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, and the People's Government of Henan Province. It was hosted by Zhengzhou University and the People's Government of Zhengzhou City. The competition attracted participation from 6.19 million projects involving 24.43 million participants from 5,673 universities across 161 countries and regions.
In recent years, the university has placed great emphasis on innovation and entrepreneurship education, achieving remarkable results in fully integrating it into and driving the talent cultivation process. This renewed breakthrough in winning the national gold award at the China International College Students’ Innovation Competition represents the culmination of the university's persistent and deep cultivation in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship education.Looking ahead, the university will continue to fully implement the important directives from the General Secretary Xi Jinping's reply letter to the student representatives of the China International College Students’Innovation Competition. We will deepen reforms in innovation and entrepreneurship education, foster a more conducive environment for innovation and entrepreneurship, and utilize competitions to enhance teaching, learning, and innovation. Through these efforts, we will continuously improve the quality of talent cultivation.
