On September 12, the Eighth Dialogue Between the Civilizations of China and the LAC was held in Wuxi. During the forum's opening ceremony, the China (Jiangsu) - LAC Universities Alliance was officially launched. Vice President Han Jie attended the forum and delivered a speech at the first joint conference of the China (Jiangsu) - LAC Universities Alliance.Han Jie stated that as a member of the alliance, Yangzhou University will work hand in hand with other member institutions to engage in practical exchanges in cultural integration, collaborative innovation, faculty interaction, and talent development. By promoting mutual learning among civilizations to build consensus and driving development through pragmatic cooperation, the university aims to contribute to the efforts of higher education institutions in building a China-LAC community with a shared future and write a new chapter in China-LAC exchange and cooperation.The China (Jiangsu) - LAC Universities Alliance is a multilateral cooperation platform initiated by Jiangsu Normal University under the guidance of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and the Jiangsu Provincial Foreign Affairs Office. It brings together 19 Chinese universities and 13 LAC universities and research institutions, aiming to comprehensively advance deep cooperation between China and LAC in education, technology, culture, and other fields.Under the theme “Mutual Learning Among Civilizations Promotes Development, A Shared Future Through Community,” the forum was co-hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, the Institute of Latin American Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies under the China International Communications Group. The event brought together over 150 participants, including diplomats from nearly 20 countries, representatives of international organizations, universities and research institutions, friends from LAC sister cities, as well as think tanks, media, and business representatives.
