On May 29, “Innovative Integration for a Win-win Future” Symposium on Strengthening Partnership between Yangzhou University (YZU) and Kasetsart University (KU) was held at the Multi-functional Hall of Main Building, YZU Lotus Pond Campus. YZU President Liu Qiaoquan, KU Vice President Tanin Kongsila, and Chen Jiangwei, Director of Yangzhou Science and Technology Bureau, attended the symposium and deliveredaspeechrespectively. On behalf of YZU, Vice President Cai Yingwei signed an agreement on cooperation with KU.
YZU President Liu Qiaoquan met with the guests from KU and reviewed over three decades of cooperative achievements between the two universities. He put forward that this symposium would serve as a catalyst to leverage strengths of comprehensive universities, strengthen inter-collegiate partnerships, and expand cooperation across broader fields including humanities, sciences, engineering, agriculture, and medicine. He proposed jointly establishing the Canal-city University Cooperation Mechanism, deepening research collaboration through Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Food Security and Safety, enhancing cooperation and integration of industry, education, research & application for China-Thailand enterprises’ breakthrough and achievement transfer & transformation, and fostering faculty-student exchanges through joint programs and short-term academic initiatives.
KU Vice President Tanin Kongsila highly praised the achievements of bilateral cooperation and expressed his willingness to strengthen partnership between KU and YZU.
Director Chen Jiangwei affirmed Yangzhou City’s full support in accelerating the progress of S&T innovation and achievement transformation.
During the symposium, KU Vice President Tanin Kongsila presented YZU President Liu Qiaoquan with KU’s confirmation letter on joining theestablishment ofCanal-city University Cooperation Mechanism. At Signing and Unveiling Ceremony of Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Food Security and Safety, YZU Vice President Cai Yingwei signed an agreement with KU Vice President Tanin Kongsila to establish Yangzhou University - Kasetsart University Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Food Security and Safety. In addition, both parties unveiled the plaque of Partners of China-ASEAN Thousand Schools Hands Together.
Around the topic of International Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research & Application and Talent Education, representatives engaged in the discussions on the establishment of Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Food Security and Safety, as well as further cooperation in humanities, social sciences, engineering, and related fields.
During the symposium, more than 80 representatives from KU delegation visited Museum of YZU History.
