The Delegation of Dr. Li Changyu, a World-Renowned Criminal Forensic Expert, Visited Yangzhou University

On December 4, Dr. Li Changyu, a world-renowned criminal forensic expert and tenured professor at University of New Haven, visited Yangzhou University. President Ding Jianning met with the delegation. Qiu Qingfeng, the secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, also attended the event.

Ding Jianning first welcomed the delegation of Li Changyu, then reviewed the history of exchanges and cooperation between the two universities, and discussed the general situation of the latest progress of both sides. Besides, the two parties agreed to promote solid exchanges and strengthen cooperation to jointly cultivate students, boost interaction of faculties and establish science and innovation platforms, so as to remain a stable and lasting relationship between the two universities.

After the meeting, Li Changyu delivered an academic lecture entitled “American Expert Evidence System and Its Enlightenment to China” for faculties and students on Yangzijin Campus. In this lecture, he retrospected his arduous study and work experience for over 60 years. Li Changyu’ s affectionate interpretation demonstrated the challenging spirit of “Making the impossible possible”. Meanwhile, he encouraged students to seek life goals, and forge ahead in the pursuit of lifelong learning. Only with adequate professional knowledge, can people create more possibilities for their future. At the scene, the present audiences were crowded with animated atmosphere and thunderous applause.

Over 800 faculties and students from Yangzijin campus, as well as the representatives from President Office, Office of Humanities and Social Sciences, International Office and Law School participated in the event.
