On July 29, Jiao Xin 'an, Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, met with Elcio Abdalla, Academician of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, Chief Scientist of the BINGO Radio Telescope Project and Professor of the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Jiao Xin 'an briefly introduced the cooperation and exchange with Brazilian universities, and fully affirmed the progress of the BINGO radio telescope project. On this basis, he suggested that both sides should further strengthen the cooperation in joint scientific research, academic exchanges and joint academic conferences etc., focusing on the key areas and making new contributions to China-Brazil strategic cooperation and the construction of a community of shared future for mankind.
Elcio Abdalla agreed with the cooperation proposal raised by Jiao Xin 'an and hoped to constantly strengthen the cooperation and exchange between universities and scientific research institutions in China and Brazil through project cooperation.
Representatives of participating units of BINGO project including Federal University of Campina Grande in Brazil and Baylor University in the United States, as well as the heads of Party Office, Science and Technology Office, International Office, School of Physical Science and Technology, Gravity and Cosmology Research Center of our university participated in the meeting.
