On May 13, 2022, the Eighth International Young Scholars Forum was successfully held by Yangzhou University. Over 190 doctoral candidates and postdoctoral fellows from multiple world-renowned universities participated in the forum. Professor Jiao Xin’an, Secretary of the CPC YZU Committee, delivered an opening speech. Professor Ding Jianning, President of YZU, made a keynote report. The forum was hosted by Professor Ye Baisen, Deputy Secretary of the CPC YZU Committee.

    In his speech, Jiao Xin'an extended a warm invitation to young scholars attending the forum to join Yangzhou University. President Ding in his speech concerning the overview of practice and effectiveness of talent work in YZU, emphasized the future development objectives of the University and main measures of talent work during the 14th Five Year Plan period. Mr. Sun Peng, Director of Human Resources Office, interpreted policies on talents recruitment. Professor Shen Wenzhong at the College of Electrical and Energy Power, and Professor Shi Hui at the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering were invited to speak on the forum.

    In the afternoon, the participants exchanged their latest research achievements, and spoke about the prospect of YZU in over 20 parallel sessions hosted by colleges and schools.

    YZU International Young Scholars Forum is designed to further consolidate and expand our talent pool, attract more high-level talent and increase channels for talent attraction. The year 2022 marks the 120th anniversary of Yangzhou University (YZU). In part to celebrate the anniversary, YZU held the eighth International Young Scholars Forum. In the form of academic exchanges in academic fields where YZU has leading expertise, including science, engineering, agriculture, medicine and humanities, the forum aims to gather young and middle-aged scholars with excellent academic background and academic potential around the world in the hope that they could enhance mutual outstanding and share insights, and that they are motivated to realize their dreams in YZU.
