Seminar on Development of Crop Cultivation with Chinese Characteristics Held at YZUFrom November 18th to 19th, a seminar on the development of crop cultivation with Chinese characteristics was held in Yangzhou, co-sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Cultivation Committee of the Chinese Crop Society, and hosted by YZU and the Jiangsu Provincial Center for Cooperative Innovation of Modern Industrial Technology of Food Crops. More than 190 professionals, including those from the Cultivation Committee of the Chinese Crop Society and experts who submitted papers to the conference, attended the meeting.
Academician Zhang Hongcheng, on behalf of the 6th Cultivation Committee of the Chinese Crop Society, summarized the work in the past two years and reported on plans for the next stage. He believed that the seminar was closely related to challenges at home and abroad which include transforming, upgrading and modernizing crop production in China.The contents of the discussion were pertinent. They covered a wide range of fields, and played a direct guiding role in the development of crop production and cultivation in China.
