The Mechanical Engineering College of Yangzhou University (YUMEC) was merged out of several departments in July 2002 to cultivate qualified technical and engineering personnel. Its history dates back to the establishment of Yangzhou Institute of Technology in 1952. At present YUMEC consists of six academic sections, namely:
